Hisashiburi Quesadilla

久しぶりケサディージャー ❤️❤️❤️
(baru tahu tulisannya dalam katakana sesusah itu..haha)

My first quesadilla in Japan life chapter 2 with homemade chicken kebab and broccoli using tortilla wraps from German Trader Joe’s (wow! I thought it’s only found in USA –> hope they will also open the stores here in Tokyo soon :D) brought by hubby who’s just had business trip there.

I love how quick everything is made with tortilla. When I’m too lazy to cook breakfast, simply wrap the peanut butter and banana (oh, and chocolate sprinkles –> this is so Indonesian :P), then tadaaa.. we have proper meal! Same way for this one, I just defrosted the chicken kebab stored in a resealable bag from my freezer and drained some canned beans plus throw the veggies and cheese. No recipe needed, see?

Grilled Red Fish (Soi)

Blackened #redfish (#ソイ / #soifish in Japan), grilled with homemade #cajunseasoning. #Cookingfish always becomes a challenge for #recipega, especially if it’s the #wholefish. Removing the dirts isn’t simple and tests the patience already, moreover making it – not stinky – fully cooked without breaking the body structure • • Based on my several experiments, here are some tips I noted for #grillingfish: 1) Let the skin on 2) Use oil to coat entire fish 3) Include lemon / lime juice when marinating fish with the herbs / spices 4) Split in the middle horizontally (make it “flat” like this photo) 5) Use racks or fish griller tweezers 6) Grill in opened fire or “broil” mode • • #cookingmama #cajunfish #allrecipes Posted by @egadioniputri via Instagram

Tuna Avocado Sub

#Tuna and #avocado are beyond great to pair up in a #sandwich (a.k.a. #sub) for #breakfast! No stove or oven required, unless you want to grill the #buns a lil bit. #tunasalad recipe: drain the #cannedtuna (#lighttuna flakes), mixed with #mashedavocado (should be #ripeavocado) + onion cuts + diced celery (can be replaced with cucumber) + lemon / lime juice (I skipped it and used #honey instead :D) + salt pepper if desired. Serve with #lettuce or other #crunchyveggies😋. いただきます‼️#recipega #breakfastidea #quickbreakfast #tunasandwich #tunasub #tunaavocado #nocookingrequired #ツナサラダ #シーチキン #ツナサンド #ツナアボカド Posted by @egadioniputri via Instagram

Turn Salmon Bones into Yummy Sushi!

Got “dumped” salmon bones* for only $1 in a Japanese market and #recipega turned it into homemade sushi for the little #musaromas and his Papa Mama.

Recipe note:

  • top left >> sort the salmon pieces, pick the thick ones to cut into raw salmon slices and grill the rest in a griddle with olive oil + pinch of salt and black pepper
  • top right >> flake the grilled salmon so the meat can be separated from the bone, then roll with other fillings in nori sheet
  • middle right >> make the sushi roll❕place the rice on top of nori and flip rice side down in non-stick sushi mat or #makisu, put the fillings (I used some sushi flakes and mixed it with mayonnaise, plus some thinly sliced cucumber, avocado, and crab stick or #kanikama)
  • bottom left and right: oh my.. You have delicious sushi beatable to restaurant’s

* As long as I paid attention to the fish counter in some groceries, especially those who sell the fresh fish (not frozen), they usually also has the fish bones (the center part of fish which has little flesh remained) for sale in a cheap price

Burrito Bowl with Chicken Fajita

#recipega’s #firstattempt of #burritobowl for #iftar yesterday (6/12) with #chickenfajita stock from the freezer (I made 7 kind of ready-to-eat side dishes to stock in the freezer during Ramadan :D). OMG.. I want to make this every day!!! So good 👍🏼 unfortunately we run out of tortilla chips and avocado 🙁 #burrito #homemadeburritobowl #southernfood #mexicanfood #navybeans #brownrice #homemadefajitas #ramadan2016

Recipe for Chicken Fajita

I only cheated the recipe for homemade seasoning from Food dot com and threw whatever I think good for fajitas. I skipped chicken bouillon and onion powder in the seasoning recipe since I didn’t have it, but added around 1/2 pack of taco seasoning mix (store-brought). Here is the ingredients I used:
– 1 boneless chicken breast
– 1/2 large onion + 1 crushed garlic
– a half of chicken weight of mixed-color bell pepper
– 1/4 cup pineapple
– 1/4 roasted walnut
– a cup of water

Recipe for Burrito Bowl

So basically I had the chicken fajita (with recipe above) stored in my freezer a couple days before making this burrito bowl. It’s nice treat! You can make many foods from fajitas. This time we needed quick dinner that I put 10-minutes brown rice in microwave. I love the rice! It saves me when I have no much time to cook rice and because we normally have only short-grain rice (Japanese style), the brown rice is our answer for long-grain rice craving. In our home country, we always eat long-grain rice like Thai jasmine rice. That’s why sometimes we miss it…

Back to burrito.

After the rice was cooked, I simply stirred it with the fajita. I reheated chicken fajita in the saucepan, then added the rice and navy beans (I have it cooked in the fridge). Put some iceberg lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, salsa, and chips. Unfortunately, neither avocado nor tortilla chips we had for this time.

Hope someday I can make it again with complete, authentic ingredients.
