4th Anniversary Dinner

#ea5512 With the most precious gift from Allah #musaromas, 4th anniversary dinner last night wasn’t necessary to be either high budget or romantic.. 😜😝 Yet, the food was such a blast for us! That #ThaiFriedRice tasted very similar to street-food cart in Indonesia we miss aaaaall the time! Ohhh so touching 😂😂😂

A plate costed less than $12 was filling enough for two persons and we got a basket of crackers too. Yum! Lucky us to have this old restaurant as our neighbor 😁😭

P.S.: I do thinking to write about my feeling and sharing our experience so far in sailing this marriage boat. However, our attention is still on another event coming up this weekend. May is super duper BUSY and SPECIAL month. Thank you so much for those who have been participating in our survey on Facebook 🙂

Collage of captured #bentoforwork (was: #bentotooffice) from #recipega for hubby – April 2016 edition. Menu can be seen below. ea5512 — Beberapa trik untuk menyiapkan #bekalkantor kilat adalah sbb: – selalu sedia stok lauk matang di freezer – potongin sayuran minimal seminggu sekali (sayuran siap pakai, udah dicuci + disiangi + diirisi + dibagi) – potongin buah lebih kalo lagi makan buah – bikin salad dan kuasai cara bikin dressing untuk salad (kalo mau bikin sendiri) atau beli jadi aja juga enak-enak >> saya ga suka karena ga bisa atur kadar keasinan / kemanisan. Baked Potato Wedges

Yey! #recipega first welldone #potatowedges! #Broil on high heat is the key 🙂 I use my own creation of seasoning mixture to coat #potatocut from 4 large #redpotato: 1/2 Tbs of minced garlic + 1/2 Tbs parmesan cheese + 1 tsp paprika powder + 1 tsp italian seasoning (thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary, etc) + 1/4 tsp black pepper + 3 Tbs vegetable oil. Steps: (1) Bring water to boil, amount depends on how much your potatoes. (2) Wash and cut potatoes, divide into half lengthwise, then repeat twice, so each potato yields 8 cuts (2) Mix all seasoning ingredients in a large bowl, preheat oven 350 F (180 C) (3) Add potato cuts into boiling water, reduce heat, cook for 5 minutes (4) Take potatoes out from water with strainer, spread on dry cloth / kitchen towl, pat till dry (5) Transfer dry potatoes to bowl of seasoning mixture, combine well (6) Arrange potato cuts in a baking pan, bake for 15-20 minutes (7) Change the oven state into broil mode on 500 F, bake for another 5 minutes (8) Let it cool and eat! Tasted like #cajunseasoning yet edible for baby (free salt / sugar and not spicy)! Alhamdulillah, akhirnya berhasil bikin #kentangpanggang yang mirip kaya di resto-resto. Kelihatan simpel, ternyata saya dudul juga dulu-dulu suka gagal (ga bisa crispy luarnya). #myfirsttrial #potatowedgesrecipe #potatorecipe #bakedpotato #grilledpotatoPosted by @egadioniputri via Instagram

Meeting with Imam Shamsi Ali

#ea5512 Precious meeting with two germs of Indonesia: Imam Shamsi Ali and Fauziah Fauzan. Yet, taking a picture together with #imamshamsiali (far top) such beyonds our dream before coming to USA. We adore him, since we read his memoar book by Julie Nava, as an Islamic chief figure who respects others no matter what their religions are. His kindness has attrated many people to come to the Islamic center or masjid he’s in charge of, including those who came there with intention on finding errors in Islam or expressing hatred to Islam, but then ended up converting to muslim 😀 Meanwhile, Mrs. Fauziah Fauzan is leader of an honorable boarding school in Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, called “Diniyyah Puteri”. She was invited by Indonesia counsellor at Chicago for weeks of staying in USA to promote Islamic education. Well, I didn’t attend her speech at MSU, but in the session of our meeting she gave brief message to us which really left deep feeling in my heart. She said to ta ke care of my baby really well up to two years old and help his brain neurons to get connected perfectly (I’m still on search about it and will write it later once I found the scientific facts) by keeping screen away!!! Oh, it’s in line with the advice I heard from Ellie Risman, a parenting expert of Indonesia, and also a suggestion from “Brain Rules for Baby” book that the amount of TV a child should watch before the age of 2 is zero! Thank you so much for imam and staffs from Islamic Center of East Lansing too to have us there in their place and kindly sponsored the dishes. Totally worth it an hour trip from Farmington to the Michigan capital city! #imamshamsiali #fauziahfauzan #kjrichicago #eastlansing #lansing #islamiccentereastlansing #indonesianmuslim #indonesianevent #muslimlife #muslimhood #musliminmichigan #musliminUSA #

Watermelon Cake with Yogurt and Cheese as “Whipped Cream”

#lateupload another #dessert from #recipega kitchen – so, last Sunday we were invited by a mix Indonesian-Japanese family to have temaki sushi lunch at their home. The host said we don’t need to bring anything, but I felt not good and decided to bring dessert, and because both of us have little kids plus I hate making sweets, I thought about #healthydessert. This #watermelon #tart came to my search along with rose apple pie (see next photo). I didn’t want to use ready-to-use whipping cream too since it mostly contains high fructose corn syrup, or heavy cream also has preservative, so I substitute with #greekyogurt (#plainyogurt) + #kefircheese (cream cheese is okay) + honey for decorative cream, but it turned little melting 😀 Probably you need to add cheese to make it thicker. #watermelon#watermelontart#watermeloncake#diycake#cakehacking#fruithacking#springdessertPosted by @egadioniputri via Instagram
